This podcast was recorded in the heart of Dublin 8 in what used to be the studios of the 2014 indipendent project <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mixcloud.com\/radioliberties\/\">Radio Liberties<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Italian Library Podcast II by Cassandra Voices\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?visual=true&#038;url=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F967850875&#038;show_artwork=true&#038;maxheight=750&#038;maxwidth=500\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This podcast continues a journey through <a href=\"https:\/\/cassandravoices.com\/music\/the-first-cassandra-voices-podcast-italian-library-music\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Italian \u2018Library Music,\u2019<\/span><\/a> a vast catalogue of records composed mainly in the 1960s and 1970s by some of Italy\u2019s finest musicians, with Rome and Milan becoming centres of excellence.<\/p>\n<p>Although recording artists associated began with generic soundtrack music, this provided a springboard for an innovative music scene. From a commercial base in T.V. series and advertising jingles, musicians forged unique styles, and developed distinctive sounds such as that associated with Spaghetti Westerns, a genre known as <em>Film Poliziesco-groove<\/em>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10641\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10641\" style=\"width: 625px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10641 \" src=\"https:\/\/cassandravoices.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/EnnioMorricone-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"416\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10641\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ennio Morricone in 2015<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Foremost among these composers was Ennio Morricone, who achieved global fame for soundtracks to films such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LcpCRyNo8T8\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u2018Once Upon a Time in America\u2019<\/span><\/a> (1984) and \u2018<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3VQjSSB78es\">The Good the Bad and the Ugly<\/a><\/span>\u2019 (1966). Morricone passed away in July of this year at the age of ninety-one, and this Podcast is dedicated to his memory.<\/p>\n<p>This Italian Library encompassed avant-garde composition, classical harmony, psychedelia, and funk with brash horns, guitars, and futuristic synths prominent.
