Don\u2019t speak.<br \/>\nCome to the place where the walls and stones<br \/>\nYield their shameful secrets.<br \/>\nListen. Listen.<\/p>\n<p>Stand and hear the black earth shifting,<br \/>\nAs she did then, to deny him his succour,<br \/>\nAnd as she did when he slipped into her inky embrace.<\/p>\n<p>Three miles south of Carlow town.<br \/>\nIn the Lea of the silver stones,<br \/>\nLatched together when we had the strength,<br \/>\nThat small hollow where we submit.<br \/>\nWhere a whispering call gave way,<br \/>\nTo a silent deafening tide,<br \/>\nAnd where we fade into the geography,<br \/>\nOf this holy ancient place.<\/p>\n<p>This inky earth,<br \/>\nThick with the toils of a thousand years,<br \/>\nWill now gladly hold this pale handed child,<br \/>\nIn its dark embrace.<br \/>\nOnly the hunger of the earth<br \/>\nSurpasses that of her children.<\/p>\n<p>Three miles south of Carlow town,<br \/>\nA Holocaust reflected in the silent slate grey sky,<br \/>\nThe amputation of all kindness screamed,<br \/>\nIn a lone mother\u2019s last breathless farewell;<br \/>\n\u201cGolden haired child,<br \/>\nSon of the earth and wind itself.<br \/>\nThe black turf is no cradle,<br \/>\nThe rush and reed no shawl\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Come walk with me.<br \/>\nDon\u2019t speak.<br \/>\nCome to the place where the walls and stones yield their secrets.<\/p>\n<p>There is buried treasure three miles south of Carlow Town.<br \/>\nListen.
