{"id":12475,"date":"2021-10-19T10:34:53","date_gmt":"2021-10-19T09:34:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cassandravoices.com\/?p=12475"},"modified":"2021-10-19T10:34:53","modified_gmt":"2021-10-19T09:34:53","slug":"poetry-haley-hodges-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/casswp.eutonom.eu\/index.php\/2021\/10\/19\/poetry-haley-hodges-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Poetry: Haley Hodges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The Sacred Mundane<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1<\/p>\n<p>We might say with confidence that the world<br \/>\nis a lovely catastrophe\u2014paradise<br \/>\nburied in a rubbish heap; devilish, angelic,<br \/>\nperishing, precious, priestly, proud;<br \/>\none home to the light that is oil and the water that<br \/>\nis darkness,<\/p>\n<p>this poor dazzling Earth a jar cracking<br \/>\nwith the strain of their dueling dual containment,<br \/>\neach repelling ceaselessly the other, each true and<br \/>\neach toiling, warring for truest.<\/p>\n<p>Us? We sip from the strange chalice<br \/>\nof these shocking simultaneities.
