Maher, Private Detective, peered out<br \/>\nThe window of the fourth floor of <em>Lafayette<\/em>,<br \/>\nHis vantage point on par with a Gargoyle!<br \/>\nThe river split the city like a fissure, before him.<\/p>\n<p>It was a city divided by accent and money.<br \/>\nOn the northside, speech was contracted to the point<br \/>\nOf almost unintelligibility, which he liked<br \/>\nNever quite trusting language himself.<\/p>\n<p>While on the south, it was all accent darling,<br \/>\nBarring the odd enclave.
