A madness?) particular<br \/>\nTo us. Long endurance of darkness is not light,<br \/>\nBut speaks of a belief that light\u2019s radiance<br \/>\nMerits enduring long in the dim we know\u2014<br \/>\nIn the dusk we are.<\/p>\n<p>The world is a bone<br \/>\nFull of Christ-marrow; its sun a merely<br \/>\nMortal star, spending itself to lighten<br \/>\nWhat it can, just as the Godman upon<br \/>\nEntering our long dark did, except<br \/>\nIn his mortality\u2014no mereness.<br \/>\nHe will put flesh again on this<br \/>\nOld bone, the world, his own<br \/>\nMilk-fed flesh in the great<br \/>\nStable dark, a holy darkness:<br \/>\nAll the void<br \/>\nIs not.<\/p>\n<p>This is, and has been,<br \/>\nAnd shall be.<\/p>\n<p>What Mary treasured up<br \/>\nIn her heart was Death<br \/>\nLeaving the carcass of the world<br \/>\nAt his arrival.
