{"id":15124,"date":"2023-04-11T14:56:02","date_gmt":"2023-04-11T13:56:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cassandravoices.com\/?p=15124"},"modified":"2023-04-11T14:56:02","modified_gmt":"2023-04-11T13:56:02","slug":"poetry-it-isnt-just-a-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/casswp.eutonom.eu\/index.php\/2023\/04\/11\/poetry-it-isnt-just-a-house\/","title":{"rendered":"Poetry: It Isn&#8217;t Just a House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>It Isn&#8217;t Just A House<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It isn\u2019t just a house.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s the sacred place I took my babies home to after their tiring journey into this world.<br \/>\nTheir sweet new born cries filled the air<br \/>\nwith beautiful, new life!<br \/>\nTheir laughter, first steps, the almighty tantrums.<br \/>\nWill the walls whisper their names when we are gone?<\/p>\n<p>It isn\u2019t just a house.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s our beloved home<br \/>\nAll of life taking place right here.<br \/>\nFor six years we have felt protected by these walls,<br \/>\nWrapped in a warm embrace,<br \/>\nThe fear vanished.<\/p>\n<p>It isn\u2019t just a house.<br \/>\nIt is a sense of belonging,<br \/>\nCommunity and friendship.<br \/>\nA safety net when the world was a frightful place,<br \/>\nA comfort to me and my children in hard times.<\/p>\n<p>It isn\u2019t just a house.<br \/>\nWill our laughter echo through the void?<br \/>\nThe shouts and cries signalling the demise of a big love,<br \/>\nThe tears and tender moments shared,<br \/>\nWhere do those go? once we are gone&#8230;.<br \/>\nThis house holds the very spirit of my family.<br \/>\nWe reluctantly, tentatively, leave<br \/>\nAnd step once again into the unknown.<\/p>\n<p>It isn\u2019t just a house.<br \/>\nIt is part of us<br \/>\nA piece of our lives we will never forget<br \/>\nTo you, a prudent financial decision, nothing personal.<br \/>\nTo us, a nightmare<br \/>\nForcing us into a life of fear and uncertainty and I ask&#8230;. for what?<br \/>\nAdding insult to injury,<br \/>\nThe vaguely similar, misspelled surname on the eviction notice.<br \/>\nDon\u2019t you even care enough to know the name of the family you are making homeless?<\/p>\n<p>The fear returns.<\/p>\n<p>It isn\u2019t <em>just<\/em> a house.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It Isn&#8217;t Just A House It isn\u2019t just a house.
