Each beetle placed<br \/>\nin tongue\u2019s reach of a toad.<br \/>\nEach swallowed.<br \/>\nChemical explosions soon showed<br \/>\ntoads bulging, swelling,<br \/>\nchanging shape &#8211;<br \/>\ntill finally, through emesis,<br \/>\nthey let their prey escape.<\/p>\n<p>Our results? All beetles were ejected &#8211;<br \/>\nand survived.
