Try mph<\/strong><\/p>\n

To Payney, Tinpan, JJ, Tom P., Tom C., Col, Ry, Peewee<\/em><\/p>\n

I know the car I would most love to own:<\/p>\n

Well red, early seventies TR6,<\/p>\n

That beautiful, British-built, roadster mix,<\/p>\n

Boldly bearing the boxed badge of renown –<\/p>\n

Great jewel in Triumph\u2019s commercial crown –<\/p>\n

Two point five litre, manual, straight-six,<\/p>\n

Mint restored, flying new like a phoenix,<\/p>\n

To be roared, roof down, roared round my home town.<\/p>\n

Not for the dropping into overdrive –<\/p>\n

Instrumentation alive on the dash –<\/p>\n

Nor for near-by-gone auto heritage.<\/p>\n

More for the pace and the raw expressive<\/p>\n

Chase and catching of oneself off guard – Flash! –<\/p>\n

Much unfussed by life’s high, rising mileage.<\/p>\n

He holds a degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford and a Masters Degree from the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.
