I only read novels<br \/>\nwhich interrogate the relationship<br \/>\nbetween gout and Islamist terrorism,<br \/>\ntranslated from the obligatory French;<br \/>\nand poets whose words make me sink<br \/>\nmore comfortably into<br \/>\nmy brown swivel chair.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s taken five hundred thousand Euro<br \/>\nstrategically invested by a range<br \/>\nof government agencies<br \/>\nover the past three years to give<br \/>\nthe literature loving public<br \/>\nme sitting here in this office, knowing<br \/>\nthe name of the third most<br \/>\npopular poet in Mongolia;<br \/>\na country I had to visit<br \/>\nthree times last year,<br \/>\nat your expense, to ascertain<br \/>\nthe correct pronunciation<br \/>\nof said verse-maker\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p>My most ardent followers,<br \/>\na hairy-palmed crew<br \/>\nof professional online smoochers<br \/>\nwho append themselves to me<br \/>\non the off-chance, like maggots<br \/>\naround an untreated wound,<br \/>\neach with an avant-garde masterpiece safely<br \/>\nlocked way inside his or her head.<br \/>\n<u><br \/>\n<\/u>My own favourite writers?
